The Longest Chance company participated in the regular Baggage Working Group meeting held by IATA, this time in Geneva, Switzerland on April 26-28, 2016.

This meeting gathered together numerous representatives of airlines, some airports, and service providers. The agenda of the meeting included all aspects of preparing for an effective date of IATA resolution 753 on June 2018. There are many issues airlines have to understand to be compliant with the requirements of Resolution 753.

As the baggage management closely connected with everyday operations of airports, they were represented by ACI World (Airports Council International).

The main idea is to track and trace baggage during entire air travel along with the passenger – from the moment of check-in through baggage handling system and finally to arrival airport. This helps airlines know the exact list of bag needed to be loaded to an aircraft before departure, and exchange this information with other stakeholders, such as airports or connection airlines, or even customers.

During two days of the general meeting, experts discussed the up-to-date situation and progress and tried to find better solutions to follow the Resolution 753.

Eventually, this IATA meeting was subdivided into two subgroups devoted to closer look and discussion of tracking and tracing issues and electronic bag tag requirements.

Many speakers and networking opportunities let the participants share their ideas and approaches to resolving baggage management issues, improving air passenger experience, reducing mishandling due to new technologies for baggage operations.

Though RFID is only one of technologies considered, it showed the best results for supporting requirements of IATA Resolution 753. Excellent news for Longest Chance is that RFID baggage tracking attracts the most attention among airlines today and is considered to be the future for baggage operations.

Longest Chance offer for airlines smart solution for end to end RFID tracking bags with the 99,99% level of readability on domestic and international flights. We offer the cost effective business model without any investments from the airline in infrastructure and support.
