Longest Chance participated in the IATA Baggage Working Group between the 7th and the 9th of November, 2016 in Hong Kong. Various companies discussed progress and next steps in baggage performance across the airline industry. IATA partners include airlines, airline IT providers, RFID baggage tracking specialist and others.

The IATA Resolution 753, which goes into effect in 2018 and mandates airlines to improve on the baggage performance, in combination with the RFID developments, are driving the airline industry towards a RFID solution for baggage tracking.

During the conference, airlines clearly consider an improved customer service, while savings costs related to RFID baggage tracking, equally important as the Resolution itself.

After the Delta Air Lines initiative to implement RFID baggage tracking, other airlines are exploring and considering embarking on similar projects, including global tracking. Longest Chance is particularly well positioned to assist airlines in a global deployment based on CAPEX, OPEX or hybrid solutions, which gives the airlines the possibility to use an international RFID infrastructure without owning hardware across international common-use airport terminals.
